What I want Is
Picture_021.jpg
What I want is
Enough time

To do what I want
What I want

To fish for a day
And into the night

And then the next day
With friends

By my side
And my pole slicing through the air

Like a knife
Slicing through a tomato

In the kitchen
And the warm sun
n1086990483_30319068_6935.jpg
Of summer
Through a clear sky

As I count
My casts

My snags
My fish

My Days
Day 1, Day 2

Messy Room
Whosever room this is should be ashamed
His clothes are scattered across the floor
His dresser is covered and filled with everything but clothes

His ties all hang from the handle of the door
His t.v. and stereo are dustier than a coal mine
His blankets and pillows lie on the floor
And his sheets are untucked from the bed
His keys are buried somewhere in the wreakage

His coat is hanging over the t.v.
and its summer so its unknown they its out
His dog moose has made a bed from clothes scattered about
His carpet has not been found for months

His mother nags him to clean it
and my answer is always the same
"I will tomorrow mom I have a game to play."

A deer came down the trail
I did not make a sound
He started munching on the grass
With his head to the ground

And the he found the seed
Beneath my camo stand

And then he startled suddenly
To the noise of my hand

The sun comes
On spread pheasants' wings

It sits hard
And waits to jump

In the tall grass
Then flies across the sky

I wake up at the first sign of the light
I dress up in camo hunting gear
I check my boots to make sure they are tight
I grab my gun and hope to shoot a deer

I drove to pick up my friend at his place
Together we drove down to kum and go
From there we were able to start our chase
We did not have a tag to shoot a doe

We hoped to have the chance to shoot a buck
We walked through the thick timber to find him
We trampled through the cornfields full of muck
We thought we spotted him through a tree limb

I aimed my gun and shot him through the heart
I knew we’d get him from the very start
